  • I have replaced my Buder water filters and the water now appears cloudy. Is this normal?
Yes, when a water filter cartridge is changed, it is normal for the water produced by the new filter to look cloudy. The cloudy appearance is due to micro air bubbles in the water. This “cloudiness” happens because the new water filter cartridge is full of air, not water. For this air to escape, it will have to pass through each filter membrane with the Buder Stage 3 filter cartridge filtering to a size of 1 micron. Tip to check: If you fill a clear glass with the cloudy water you can see the tiny air bubbles slowly rise to the top of the glass over several minutes leaving a clear, clean glass of water. The water is perfectly fine to drink. The air in the water is the same air that you are breathing.
  • Which way should the water flow through my Buder 3 stage water filter?
The water should flow into the Stage 1 filter first, then into the Stage 2 filter and finally into the stage 3 filter. If the water flow is incorrect this can cause the Stage 1 filter to turn black in colour due to carbon sediment from the Stage 2 filter - This role should be performed by the Stage 3 filter.
